How to Suppress the Attribution Message on Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress

Step-by-Step Guide to Customizing or Removing the Attribution Message in the Kognetiks Chatbot Plugin

From time-to-time I get asked how to suppress the Attribution Message “Chatbot WordPress plugin by Kognetiks” on the Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress plugin user interface.

The default attribution message is displayed when the Suppress Attribution Message is set to “Off”.

To suppress the message, navigate to the Chatbot Settings, then click on the Message tab, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen.

Once there you will find the Suppress Attribution Message setting.  Change the setting to “On” then click the “Save Settings” button.  Return to a page where the chatbot appears, refresh the page (using a CTRL-SHFT R to reload the page) and the attribution should no longer appear on the bot user interface.

You do have the option to add your own message below the chatbot controls and buttons.  You could, for example, add your own equivalent message such as “Thank you for using our chatbot to answer your questions” or other message of your choosing.

To add your own unique message to the bottom of the chatbot, navigate to the Chatbot Settings, then click on the Message tab, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen.

In this case, you’ll want to see the Support Attribution setting to “Off” (so that the message will be displayed on the chatbot interface), then enter your Custom Attribution Message, then click the “Save Settings” button.  Return to a page where the chatbot appears, refresh the page (using a CTRL-SHFT R to reload the page) and the attribution should show your custom message on the bot user interface.
