Enhancing Engagement: Introducing Audience Choice in Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress

This week has been filled with opportunities and challenges.  Most notable this week was the rebranding from “Chatbot ChatGPT” to “Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress”.  Among many things a new feature was added: Audience Choice.

Audience Choice

The new Audience for Chatbot setting can be found on the main Setting page of the chatbot.  You’ll find it last on the list of essential settings for the chatbot.

There are three settings: All Audiences, Logged-in Only, Visitors Only.  The choices are self-explanatory.  Setting your choice here is a global setting anywhere the chatbot might be located.

In addition to this global setting, you can control the audience to whom the chatbot will be presented.

In the example below, the “original” ChatGPT chatbot is configured as floating and will be shown to all audiences.

In the example below, an “assistant” chatbot is configured as embedded and will only be shown to logged-in audiences.

By configuring the settings of the chatbot – choosing between All Audiences, Logged-in Only, or Visitors Only – you can tailor the accessibility and visibility of the chatbot according to your specific preferences and needs.

Whether opting for a floating style chatbot visible to all, or an embedded assistant reserved for logged-in users, these customization options ensure a seamless and personalized experience for interacting with the chatbot across various platforms and audiences.

Behind the Scenes

I’ve been working diligently to improve the code base for the chatbot.  The short-term goal has been focused on stabilizing the code base.  This will set the stage for the long-term goal: adding new features and functionality, such as seeding the chatbot with a prompt, and another is more control over what the Knowledge Navigator indexes.

Your feedback, suggestions and feature requests has been instrumental in helping me opportunities, identify problem areas, what might be broken and needs a fix or just is not working as expected.
